1.10 Pre-Departure Checklist

Do I need a Student Visa ?

(Important Note: Do not obtain or use a visitor's visa for entry to the UK to start your course)

Do I need any Health Documentation?

Do I have all of the documentation I will need for a visa and to register at the College?

• Passport
• College Offer Letter
• Documentation of funding (sufficient for tuition and living)
• Letter from sponsor confirming to pay fees (if appropriate)
• Documentation-showing conditions of College offer met (if needed)
• Passport size photographs
• Accommodation arrangements?

Will I be living in a Residence Hall?

If yes, have I…

• Submitted an online application for accommodation?
• Received electronic contract from Accommodation Office?
• Accepted room contract ?
• Brought note of room number etc.

Will I be living in the local area?

If yes, have I…

• Made arrangements for temporary accommodation, while I look for a house?
• Obtained a housing list from the Student Housing Bureau?
• Sufficient funds available to pay for expenses while looking, and for a deposit?

Have I made proper financial arrangements?

• Prepared a budget?
• Received approval to remove funds from the country (if needed)?
• Purchased Sterling travellers cheques?
• Purchased appropriate travel/health/personal possessions insurance? (see section 1.4)

Have I signed up online at www.rhul.ac.uk/registry/enrolment?
